I was researching for Curly's newest guide... "Shoe Shopping", when I came across a very strange new fashion trend in the equine world. Curly wrote a quick paragraph about the horse verison of nail polish (hoof polish), but I thought that this crazy topic deserved a bigger recognition.
Usually, hoof polish comes in two colors: clear and black. Black for the dark-hooved horses, clear for the light-hooved horse (but Curly will tell you all about that). Now, though, a company called Twinkle Toes is making a whole line of glittery, colorful equine hoof polishes in colors like "rainbow stars" and "rodeo pink".

They also make colors without the glitzy glitter and sparkle, including a clear color that actually seems slightly normal. (Yet they still have to call it something pretty, so the name is "Crystal Clear".)
You can click on the picture to get a better look, or check out the Twinkle Toes website (which of course is quite glittery) at www.twinkleglitter.com

Why anyone would put this hoof polish on thier horse? Beats me! Curly could think of one good use for it though... he's replacing Pegasus' usual black polish with it to see if he notices. Pegasus' hooves are going to look like the picture to the left.
You never know, maybe it'll start a trend! In a few weeks all of the winged horses in Wisconsin will be wearing it... or not.
